Export Profiles can be used to store export settings in a central place where it is accessible for everybody and can be used to produce exports which have exactly the same look and feel. Export profiles contain the following settings: stylesheet, cover pages (front and back), page size and margins, headers and footers.

There are 2 kinds of Export Profiles: global and space-level.

Global Export Profiles

Global Export Profiles are available system-wide and can be used in all the spaces in the whole confluence instance.

You can find them in the Content Exporter section on the Confluence administration page:

On this screen, you can see a list of global Export Profiles.

To create a new global Export Profile, click on "Add profile" button:

The Export Profile editor pops up. Please see the "Export Profile Editor" section for more details about it.

To edit or delete an existing global Export Profile, click on edit or delete button next to the Export Profile.

If you click edit, the Export Profile editor pops up. Please see the "Export Profile Editor" section for more details about it.

If you click delete, a confirmation dialog pops up. Click "OK" to delete it, otherwise "Cancel".

Space-level Export Profiles

Space level Export Profiles are available only in the space in which they were created.

You can find them in the Content Exporter section on the Space Tools page:

To create a new space-level Export Profile, click on "Add profile" button:

If you are creating a new Export Profile, editing or customizing an already existing one, the Export Profile editor is shown. On the Export Profile editor, you can specify the formatting settings belonging to the given profile.

If you are editing a profile, then you have to give it a name.

If you are customizing one, the name is "Custom" and the name field is hidden, so you cannot modify it:

Select stylesheet to use

You can choose a stylesheet from the ones created on the admin Custom Stylesheets page. The selected stylesheet will be included in the exported page at the end of the styles section. This means that the selected stylesheet will take overwrite the styles declared in the page.

To select a stylesheet, just click on the "Edit" link on the right side of stylesheet row:

A new dialog opens, where you can select the stylesheet you want to use:

just select the stylesheet you want to use and click the Select button. Once you selected a stylesheet, the stylesheet name will be updated in the export dialog

Cover pages

You can select a front and a back cover page which will be included in the export before and after the exported content respectively. Cover pages are standard Confluence pages. You can use the Custom Field Macro to put any variable on it.

There are 2 kinds of cover pages:

  • Global cover pages: stored in a separate space ("Content Exporter global cover pages" space) and can be used in all spaces.

  • Space cover page: any page can be a cover page in the current space.

Select the page you want to use in the dropdown:

For global Export Profiles, you can select only pages from the "Content Exporter global cover pages" space. For space level export profiles you can select any page from the current space plus pages from the "Content Exporter global cover pages" space.

If "Content Exporter global cover pages" space does not exist, a notification is shown on the export profiles list (both on global and space-level) and you can immediately create it with a single click:
